If your business is not registered with Google then it needs to be….
Shortly after getting my new HTC Hero (Android if you are from the U.S.) Michelle called me from work and asked if I would bring her something from Noodle Box. As I was waiting, for nearly 30 minutes in their small and crowded reception area, I saw a sign that said that I could have pre-ordered my meal. I used my phone’s GPS to peg down my location on Google Maps, search for Noodle Box near my location then clicked on ‘Add to Contacts”. I will never need to wait in line there again and was able to spend the rest of my wait reading reviews on the food I would soon be eating. (Outstanding by the way)
A couple of days later Michelle and I were driving through Parksville and remembered that we were told about a great little East Indian restaurant near there. Once again I used Google Maps to peg down my location and searched for East Indian Food. I found the restaurant, pre-ordered a meal from the contact information and got directions to the restaurant.
Shortly after, I drove to Nanaimo for a trade show where we were expected to speak on social media. Being completely unfamiliar with the city I simply entered the name of the venue in Google Maps then followed the little dot on my display all the way to the conference center.
I can no longer count how often I used Google Maps to find restaurants and other services, scan reviews, or get directions to my next appointment.
A fantastic service that continues to expand. So much easier then online yellow pages with so many additional features… and so much more sustainable then a phone book. I certainly am not the only person out there using Google Maps, both on my mobile and on my PC. Register your business, for free, immediately.
